Sira Tasks Page User Manual

After clicking the Tasks sidebar menu item, you'll access the Tasks page. This is your personal task management hub, designed to help job seekers stay organized during their job search. The page features a calendar-based view of upcoming deadlines, reminders, and actionable items such as application due dates, interview schedules, follow-up reminders, and profile completion tasks.

The interface combines a monthly calendar with a list of tasks, providing a visual and chronological way to manage your job search activities. It's fully responsive, adapting to desktop and mobile screens for on-the-go access. Below, we'll detail the layout, features, and step-by-step instructions for effective task management.

Page Overview

find-jobs Page

The Tasks page opens with a clean, calendar-focused layout that emphasizes time management:

  • Header: Displays the page title "Tasks" with the standard top navigation (Sira logo, search bar, profile icon).
  • Left Sidebar: The familiar collapsible navigation (Dashboard, Jobs, Applications, Messages/Requests, Files, Tasks).
  • Main Content Area:
    • Calendar Header: Month/year navigation with today indicator.
    • Calendar Grid: A monthly view showing days with task indicators.
    • Tasks List Panel: Detailed view of selected or upcoming tasks.
  • Footer: Standard Sira footer with copyright information.

The design uses color-coding (e.g., orange highlights for October 2023) and visual markers to prioritize urgent tasks. It's integrated with other Sira features, automatically populating tasks from applications, interviews, and profile reminders.

Calendar Navigation and View (Top/Main Section)

The calendar is the centerpiece, providing a visual timeline of your commitments.

1. Calendar Header

  • Current Month/Year Display: Shows the active month (e.g., "October 2023") in bold orange text.
  • Navigation Controls:
    • Previous Month (← arrow): Go back one month.
    • Next Month (β†’ arrow): Advance one month.
    • Today Button: Jump back to the current month (highlighted if not viewing today).
    • View Toggle: Switch between Month, Week, or Day views (icons: πŸ“… for month, πŸ“Š for week, πŸ“„ for day).
  • How to Use:
    1. Click arrow buttons to navigate through months.
    2. Click Today to return to the present.
    3. Use the dropdown or toggle to change viewsβ€”Month is default for overview, Week/Day for details.

2. Calendar Grid

  • Visual Elements:

    • Current Day Highlight: Today's date is outlined or shaded (e.g., if viewing October 2023 and today is Oct 15, that cell is prominent).
    • Task Indicators: Dots, numbers, or colored badges in cells showing task counts per day:
      • Blue Dots: Standard tasks (e.g., application deadlines).
      • Red Dots: Urgent/overdue tasks.
      • Green Dots: Completed tasks.
      • Orange Highlights: Days with multiple tasks or important events.
    • Empty Days: Blank cells for days without tasks.
    • Week Headers: Mon, Tue, Wed, etc., for orientation.
  • Sample Layout (Based on October 2023):

    • Early October: Minimal tasks.
    • Mid-October: Several days with dots (e.g., Oct 15-20 have 1-2 tasks each).
    • Later October: More populated days toward the end.
  • How to Use:

    1. Scan for Tasks: Look for dotted cells to identify busy days.
    2. Select a Day: Click any date cell to view that day's tasks in the right panel.
    3. Hover/Tap for Preview: On desktop, hover over a cell for a tooltip with task summaries (e.g., "2 applications due"). On mobile, tap to expand.
    4. Drag to Reschedule: For some tasks, drag the indicator to a new date (if editable).
    • The grid auto-adjusts for the month length (e.g., October has 31 days, starting on a Sunday in 2023).

Pro Tip: Use the Month view for planning and switch to Week view for daily focus. The calendar syncs with your timezone and updates in real-time.
